Phoenix Labs' Project Oni (Unreleased) - Rig
Project Oni is an unreleased title from Phoenix Labs. I was brought into the project in 2022 to design the initial look and feel of the gameplay map. I also contributed in designing props and backgrounds. All images are published with permission from Phoenix Labs.
The arena became very sports like and built specifically for it, instead of repurposing existing architecture.
This arena was called The Rig. It was originally set in New Delhi, but then changed to somewhere in Nevada. Fun bit that I injected was the electric guitar inspired design for the bridge on the bottom left.
Different eagle statues to emphasize that this was set in America.
Initially, we explored what an arena set in India would look like. I love exploring how traditional Indian motifs could be integrated with futuristic tech. The place was then changed to America.
